Is ABA therapy evidence-based?

Yes. ABA is recognized as a leading treatment approach for autism by the CDC and the U.S. Surgeon General, backed by decades of research.

What that recognition means

ABA is recognized as a leading treatment approach for autism by the CDC and the U.S. Surgeon General, backed by decades of research. That recognition is about the approach, not about any one provider, and it is worth being precise about the difference.

Evidence-based in the approach, and in your child's program

An approach being well supported does not automatically mean a given program is working for a given child. That is why progress is tracked continuously using data collected during sessions, and why goals are reviewed and adjusted as your child grows and changes. The evidence that matters most to your family is the evidence your own child's data produces.

We would rather tell you that plainly than lean on the research as a reason to stop asking questions. If a program is not producing progress, it needs changing rather than defending.

Honest about what we will not claim

We do not promise a timeline, a percentage, or a guaranteed outcome, because no honest provider can. What we can promise is that your child's goals are individualized, that the data is real, and that you will see what is changing rather than having to take our word for it.
