What if therapy doesn't seem to be working?

Tell us, and we will look at the data with you. Goals are reviewed and adjusted as your child grows, and a program that isn't producing progress needs changing rather than defending. Because the owner of this practice is a BCBA, the person who can actually change your child's program is the person who will take your call.

How you will know before we tell you

Progress is tracked continuously using data collected during sessions, and you receive regular updates through meetings, reports, and ongoing conversations. You should not have to rely on a feeling that something is off, and you should not be finding out at a quarterly review. If the data on a goal has been flat, that is visible, and it is a conversation we should be having with you rather than around you.

What "not working" usually turns out to be

Sometimes the goals themselves are wrong — technically achievable, but not the things that would change your family's week. Sometimes the schedule does not fit the household anymore. Sometimes a strategy is not being carried into the hours between sessions because nobody walked you through it properly. Sometimes a child and a therapist are simply not a good match. Each of those has a different fix, and telling them apart starts with looking at the data together.

Goals are meant to move

Goals are reviewed and adjusted as your child grows and changes. A treatment plan is a working document, not a commitment we defend because we wrote it. If a program is not producing progress, changing it is the clinically correct response, and that includes reducing hours or changing the people involved if that is what the situation calls for.

Who takes the call

You can reach our team the same day. Because the owner of this practice is a BCBA, the person who can actually change your child's program is the person who will take your call — there is no escalation path through an account manager, and no growth target sitting quietly behind the answer you get.

If the honest conclusion is that another provider or a different type of service is a better fit for your child, we will say that too.
