In-Home ABA Therapy in Cary, Illinois

Believing is Achieving serves Cary families at home. Cary is our only McHenry County community and sits at the northern edge of our service area, so call before you plan around us and we will tell you honestly whether we can reach your address.

The edge of the map, said out loud

Cary lies mostly in Algonquin Township in McHenry County, with a portion in Cuba Township in Lake County, and around 17,900 people live there. It is geographically separate from the cluster of communities where most of our caseload sits, and pretending otherwise would waste a family's time. What we can promise is a straight answer within days rather than an optimistic maybe. Our other communities are listed on the locations page, and families at the margin of that map should call so we can be honest about travel.

The reason clinicians ration their travel at all is the same shortage that shapes the rest of the region. Illinois has 2,388 behavior analysts certified to an in-state address, 8.8 per 10,000 children where the national rate is 10.3, roughly 1,130 children per analyst against 968 nationally. Stretch a small workforce across a large map and somebody waits. We choose to be truthful about reach instead of collecting names, which is what our no-waitlist commitment protects.

A split town at ninth grade

Cary Community Consolidated School District 26 is elementary only, PreK through eighth grade. At ninth grade students move to Community High School District 155, based in Crystal Lake, which operates Cary-Grove High School and also draws from Crystal Lake District 47, Fox River Grove District 3, and Prairie Grove District 46. Some Cary addresses instead fall in Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 or Community Unit School District 300.

That change of district is a genuine event for a family with an IEP: a new special education office, staff who have never met the child, and a high school shared with several villages. Preparing for it early is most of the work, and we help parents do exactly that on our IEP and school collaboration page.

Sessions in your Cary home

Where we do serve a family, the model does not change: a therapist in your house, working on the routines that actually go wrong there, with a behavior analyst reviewing the data and adjusting the plan.

Cary suits that approach. The Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line station gives direct service to Ogilvie and makes a contained first practice trip for a child working on waiting and boarding. Northwest Highway runs through the village centre, and the Fox River corridor is close for an unhurried walk. The Cary Park District operates Hoffman Park, Lions Park, and a Community Center, and the Cary Area Public Library on Three Oaks Road is an easy indoor destination to keep short.

How we practice

The same three commitments apply: every session is delivered at home, the practice is behavior-analyst owned, and the therapist is agreed with the family.

Insurance for Cary families

Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, and Optum are in-network with us. Illinois requires state-regulated plans to cover autism diagnosis and treatment including ABA, and the mandate's 2022 amendment made clear that a covered service cannot be refused because it happens at home. Plans differ, so we verify benefits before you commit — the insurance page covers the steps.

Where else we work

Cary is not adjacent to the rest of our service area, so rather than name towns an hour away, see the full list on the locations page or contact us and ask about your address directly.

Questions from Cary parents

Which districts serve Cary?

Cary Community Consolidated School District 26, known as Cary School District 26 or D26, covers PreK through eighth grade only. Its students then attend Community High School District 155, whose Cary-Grove High School serves the village. Portions of Cary fall instead in Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 or Community Unit School District 300.

Is Cary inside your service area?

It is our only McHenry County community and it sits at the northern edge of where we travel. We would rather say that plainly than imply easy coverage. Call us with your address and we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you on a reliable schedule.

Where is Community High School District 155 based?

In Crystal Lake. Alongside Cary-Grove High School it draws students from Crystal Lake District 47, Fox River Grove District 3, and Prairie Grove District 46, so the high school community is wider than any one village.
